(Washington, DC)– On Friday, May 2 at 10:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will call on Congress to preserve the District’s Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP). The FMAP rate determines how much the federal government contributes to Medicaid costs. Congress is considering a proposal to reduce DC’s FMAP from 70% to 50%, a change that would result in a $2.1 billion loss in funding for hospitals, universities, and community providers.
