Mayor Bowser and DC Public Schools Celebrate First Day of Summer Bridge Program

(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Public Schools (DCPS) Chancellor Dr. Lewis D. Ferebee are celebrating incoming middle and high school students as they prepare for the new school year – and a new school experience – during a week-long immersion into the 6th and 9th grades. As students get ready to say good-bye to summer, attending Summer Bridge programming gives students a chance to learn about their new campuses, make friends, meet their teachers, and engage with school staff.
