Mayor Bowser and Department of Public Works to Kick Off Leaf Collection Season

(Washington, DC) – Today, Thursday, October 23 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join the DC Department of Public Works (DPW) to kick off the 2025–2026 Leaf Collection Season, which begins Monday, November 3 and continues through February 2026. At the event, Mayor Bowser and DPW officials will share what residents can expect during the leaf collection season, offer tips on composting food scraps, pumpkins, and holiday gourds, and highlight other initiatives to keep DC clean, safe, and beautiful throughout the fall and winter.
